Papua Roots exists to bring the exceptional coffee, stories, and resources of Papua directly from local communities to consumers around the world—through relationships built on fairness, respect, and transparency.

I am a Native Papuan from Wamena, in the highlands of Papua. This mission is deeply personal to me. Papua is not only where our coffee comes from; it is my home, my identity, and the place that shaped who I am.

I grew up knowing many of the farmers and communities behind these products. I have seen their hard work, their knowledge of the land, and the challenges they face. Many farmers produce excellent coffee, but limited access to markets, transportation, equipment, and business resources prevents them from receiving the opportunities and fair income they deserve.

That is why I started Papua Roots.

Connecting Farmers Directly to Consumers

Our mission is to build a more direct connection between Papuan farmers and the people who enjoy their coffee.

Too often, farmers are separated from consumers by many layers of middlemen. This can reduce what farmers earn and hide the true origin of the product. Papua Roots works to create a shorter and more transparent supply chain, allowing farmers’ products, communities, and stories to be recognized.

We want every product to represent more than a transaction. It should represent a real relationship between the farmer, Papua Roots, and the customer.

Creating Fairer Transactions

Fair trade begins with honesty, respect, and clear communication.

We are committed to building long-term partnerships with farmers and suppliers, offering fair purchasing practices, and creating opportunities for local producers to grow with us. We believe the people who care for the land and produce these valuable resources should be respected, recognized, and fairly rewarded.

Our goal is not to take from Papua, but to grow together with Papua.

Supporting Our Communities

Papua is rich in land, culture, natural resources, and human potential. However, many remote communities still have limited access to education, healthcare, transportation, equipment, and economic opportunities.

As Papua Roots grows, we want our impact to grow as well. We are committed to supporting community development, especially in the areas where our products originate. Our long-term mission includes contributing to education, healthcare, farmer resources, and other programs that create lasting opportunities for Papuan communities.

We believe business should not only generate profit. It should also create meaningful change for the people and places that make the business possible.

Papua is often misunderstood, overlooked, or represented by people who are not from there. Papua Roots gives us the opportunity to tell our own story.

Through every bag of coffee and every product we share, we want people to discover the beauty of Papua—its people, cultures, traditions, mountains, fertile land, and remarkable resources. We want Papuan farmers and communities to be known not only as producers, but as skilled partners whose knowledge and hard work deserve recognition.
